Often we take life for granted.
Good times don’t automatically happen as a mater of course.
Thanksgiving is not about being grateful for what we have or don’t have…
It’s more a matter of realizing that none of the things that make up our lives, had to be given us at all.
The mere fact that we are allowed to experience and feel the things we do…
Our Life… Good or Bad… is enough to be thankful for, all by itself.
With each awakening, on each and every day that God gives us…
A new blessing is received.
Let us remember our blessings with thanksgiving,
Work to be a blessing to others.
The God we serve as Christians
Is a giving God.
It was He who created this world…
And gave us life that we might enjoy it.
It was He who loved us…
Even as we refused to acknowledge and return that love.
It was He who chose longsuffering…
And showed mercy in the face of our sin.
It was He who allowed His Son to die…
That some of us might live.
Because we have been blessed with life
We have the opportunity to share this blessing
And create blessings and opportunities
Among those God has placed in our path.
It’s just another way of saying Thank You.
Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:
Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.
Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?
When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?
Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?
And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
As we endeavor to become more Christ like
Moving toward the presence of God
Let us enter into His presence with
Remembering our blessings
As well as
For doing good.
When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, he saith unto his mother, Woman, behold thy son!
Then saith he to the disciple, Behold thy mother! And from that hour that disciple took her unto his own home.
Some view this as Jesus making provision for His Mother, and ensuring John of His confidence in him. Personally, I believe it goes much further than what lies on the surface. One thing for certain… no mater how you look at it, it’s about relationship. Not just the relationship of Jesus with them, but also the relationship we all have with Christ… and each other.
I pray for your smile,
And the joy of your heart…
That all of your days,
Are a beautiful new start.
There are times when words are not enough…
Times when what must be said can only be expressed through the action we take.
Often, the words, as well as the action, never leaves the recesses of our minds…
Forever locked inside the inner workings of our thoughts.
But every once in awhile…
We find the power to turn our thoughts to deeds.
It’s in those times that great things occur.
Dear woman behind me in line at the grocery store,
You don’t know me. You have no clue what my life has been like since October 1, 2013. You have no clue that my family has gone through the wringer. You have no clue that we have faced unbelievable hardship. You have no clue we have been humiliated, humbled, destitute.
You have no clue I have cried more days than not; that I fight against bitterness taking control of my heart. You have no clue that my husband’s pride was shattered. You have no clue my kids have had the worries of an adult on their shoulders. You have no clue their innocence was snatched from them for no good reason. You know none of this.
What you do know is I tried to buy my kids some food and that the EBT machine was down so I couldn’t buy…
