A Story of redemption…
In his own words.
A lot can be determined by the way we view life. In Sholome Aleichem’s quote, only the fool regards life as a game. Whether in seeking entertainment for our own life, or reducing the life of others to something funny in our view, making a game of life is not the best approach. Much of how we exist in life is directly incumbent on the view we hold and our response to that view. Keeping a balance helps to temper our perspective, and also helps to keep us considerate of our responses in the lives of others. Without that balance we run the risk of becoming rooted in an extreme behavior, and insensitive to the effects of that behavior on those around us. Morality is the best temperament agent for keeping a balance as well as a guard to allow compassion to remain in the forefront.
Since the beginning of recorded history, and a long time before its documentation, God has been the highest standard of morality of most every society. When a society becomes Godless we don’t have to scratch our heads to understand what it has become… “F___ish.”
When you look around at the state of the world, it’s clear that we are riddled with problems. A good many of which are of our own design. Mans effort to correct his ills, for the most part, is a hit or miss proposition. When we do manage to effect some relief it seems to be short lived. All too often our attempts bring about conditions that exacerbate the problem. Take for instance the recent advance of cellular technology. We can do now on a cellphone what use to take considerably more time and equipment. Something that would, on the surface, seem like progress. However, along with this advance has come a step backward in interpersonal relationships. People are disconnected. We’ve traded social media for real social involvement.
This is but one example of how mans effort and view of things has taken him off the path.
Modern man has wrapped his head around the idea that he is capable of doing most anything. We convince ourselves and teach others that we can do it. Consider these familiar phrases…
Don’t give up.
Winners never quit, and quitters never win.
If at first you don’t succeed… try, try again.
It seems that we are in need of a reminder of where our strength really comes from.
Mankind hopefully, will one day understand that we are God’s creation, created to do good works which He has ordained. All of our attempts to write Him out of the picture, and not acknowledge His Will in our lives is a wasted effort. The further we try to move away from God, the more of a game we make the life we live.
In closing I give this recommendation to one and all…
Draw close to God and learn the knowledge of His ways.
You won’t find Him if you’re not looking.
This video is raw, and yes, it does use some language that might be unwholesome…
But when you get past it and hear the message, it speaks for itself. God can take anybody from where they are to where He wants them to be, just trust and believe.
