I’m letting go, but just for awhile…
We’ll meet again, have faith my child.

I know you’re hurting, and worried too…
It’s a part of life, we all go through.

This thing you face, this test, this trial…
Hold fast the thought, it’s just for awhile.

God has shared me, to help you know…
The beauty of life, through me to show.

From laughter and pain, to the joy of a smile…
He allows us a taste, but just for awhile.

A sample of goodness, to direct our view…
And guide us toward, what we must do.

I’m letting go, the baton is passed…
I’m standing down, as you start your task.

I’m watching God’s grace, in you my child…
You’re taking my place, but just for awhile.

At your journey’s end, when your struggle is done…
You’ll pass these words, to daughter, to son.

Like me, you’ll let go, but it won’t be goodbye…
We’ll all meet again, in the presence of glory.

That’s the beauty of a place in God’s story,
Never ending, just changing style…
Each chapter existing, but just for awhile.
