And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise.
From the heart of a condemned man, words confessing guilt were expressed. That same heart also expressed a belief in one who was innocent. Belief in one who not only was a king with a kingdom, but who had authority to grant entry as well as pardon. This moment and these words illustrate the redemptive work of Jesus on the cross. A work that brought salvation… a free gift for all.
For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
